Gingerbread Girl Birthday Cake

Happy Birthday Jesus and Ellie Cupcakes

A sweet little girl wanted to share her class birthday party with Jesus this year, so I made cupcakes with these cute fondant toppers. Her mom texted after the party that the kids loved them, but were fighting over which character they were given...we should have thought about that with three-year-olds!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

When my friend Leah told me she was hosting a Happy Birthday Jesus Party and wanted a cake to celebrate, I was beyond excited.  I knew this had to be a special cake...it is celebrating the birth of our Savior! The children at the party were making tiny wooden nativity sets, so I decided to create a three-tier nativity cake.

Baby Shower Cupcakes

These may be the best tasting cupcakes ever!  My new friend Rachel hosted a breakfast baby shower at her home a couple of weeks ago and we decided to have banana nut cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese frosting.  I made fondant toppers in sweet baby shapes.  As my nephew would say, DELICIOUS!

Wednesday Word

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (NIV)

Bennett's First Birthday

I adore my nephews and niece.  Simply adore them.  I love my sister for bringing them into the world so I could love on them. One of the best things about this cake hobby of mine is making cakes for the people I love the most and I was so excited to make Bennett's first birthday cake.  He has loads of personality, so his cake needed to be bright and fun!  Out of all the three, he's the only one who really enjoyed his smash cake - I'm taking that as a compliment since I didn't make the other two!  Happy birthday dear BB!

Balloons, Bubbles, and Balls, Oh My!

A sweet little boy turned one this weekend and needed a big cake to celebrate!  This was a challenge working with three themes...balls, balloons, and bubbles! Special thanks to my sweet sister Jennifer, who "assisted" on this one!

Baby Shower Sweets

My friend Sarah hosted a baby shower last weekend and asked for lots of treats to celebrate a baby boy! I created a sweet monogram cake, cake truffles, oreo pops, chocolate dipped pretzels, and mini-cupcakes with fondant buttons!  It was a lot of work, but the end result was so worth it!

I made lots of treats for a baby shower last weekend.  Cake pops and cake truffles were on the menu, and of course, a sweet two-tier cake!

Ready For Some Football!

It's the beginning of our favorite season around here...FOOTBALL!  In honor of the first week, I made football cake pops over the weekend.  These are fun to make and perfect for football parties!

70th Birthday Cake

I got a call at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning from someone who wanted a cake for her mother-in-law's 70th birthday party THAT AFTERNOON!  Luckily, my sweet hubby understood and I went to work!  I decided to do chocolate cake with smooth chocolate buttercream and fondant roses.

Alabama Birthday Cake

As a passionate Auburn fan, this cake was tough!  But I'll do anything for my sweet Dad.  He asked for a Bama cake, so I delivered!

I had a couple of pretty cute assistants too!

A Few Good Books

Fresh From the Farmer's Market. If you love cooking with fresh fruits and vegetables, you will love this book!  It's organized season-by-season and includes fabulous recipes!

All In: What It Takes to Be the Best.  Forgive me if you aren't an Auburn fan, but I just have to include Coach Gene Chizik's new book.  I'm so proud we are National Champions, but reading it made me even prouder to have this man as our coach!  War Eagle....

Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back.  Simply put, THE BEST BOOK I'VE READ THIS YEAR.  If you haven't read it, buy it. Now. You will laugh, you will cry, you will be changed.

The Help.  This really is a great read and you can see the movie now too!  Sidenote: The author is an Alabama graduate...I'm keeping it fair on this blog!
